When the sufferings and miseries become intolerable and when there is nothing to lose, the people unite and fight against the autocratic and unjust rule in a united and well organized manner. The autocratic rulers, initially, use their police and the army against their own unarmed civilians who protest peacefully, but cannot withstand the determination of the aggrieved citizens’ movements. When they know that they can no longer hold on to power, they flee the country with billions of dollars siphoned off from the state exchequer over the years of their misrule.

A UAE royal family member, who holds absolute political power in the ministry of interior since 1994, found sadistic pleasure in ensuring that only rotten food in which live worms move around, is served to the prisoners.  The prison officials obeyed such commands and the prisoners were not capable of protesting.  Can any one imagine eating such meals? Absolutely not.  But the cruel practice continued.  The law of the land enabled him to exert any type of cruelty on the hapless prisoners.

Since the autocratic rulers manipulated the constitution in the Middle-Eastern countries, giving them absolute power, it gave sufficient protection to the rulers and the inhumane activities unleashed by them could not be opposed by the outside world.

The success of the people of Tunisia and Egypt against autocratic presidents, have prompted the people of other countries like  Yemen, Syria, Libya, Bahrain etc to visualize the days of freedom from the shackles of slavery imposed by their rulers.

It is time the world community of nations realize their commitment and responsibilities toward the humanity, especially the innocent civilians in the Middle Eastern countries and intervene to give justice to them.  All that the people in those countries are struggling for long and wanted to have is a little breath of freedom – a freedom that could be established through a democratic setup.
